The Association of Persons with Intellectual Disability Inc. was founded by SPED center teachers in Tagbilaran City Central School and JICA Volunteers. The purpose of the Association is to provide ongoing support to the Persons With Intellectual Disability (PWID) after they graduate from Bohol schools. We assign various tasks to the PWIDs so that they can continue studying and learning, like vocational training and simple jobs.
This support center for PWIDs is a new concept. We offer a wide range of activities in the field of education and welfare.
We believe that here in Babita’s house we can create good relationships among teachers and students with a smile.
フィリピンのボホール島にある特別支援学校に派遣されていた青年海外協力隊員が地元の教師たちと一緒に立ち上げた協会。
ボホール島には日本のように知的障害者の作業所や授産所がないため、卒業後の彼らの行き場所がない。
それを解決するためにボホール島初の知的障害者の支援施設を設立。福祉と教育のいいとこ取りの新しい形の施設運営に挑んでいます。

The elders help children.
Children respect the elders, parents and teachers. These relationships are very important for a harmonious life.
This is normal in Bohol but not in Japan.
This small traditional house is made of bamboo and wood.
It was used as a boys room before and then it has been transformed in a larger building with rooms for multiple use.
There is no need for air conditioning or electric fan!
できる子はできない子の手伝いをする。
大きい子は小さいこの面倒を見る。
子ども・生徒は親・先生を尊敬する。
これ、ボホール島では当たり前のことです。
障害があってもなくてもですよ。
なんて素晴らしい人間関係！
この写真は一番初めに建てた掘っ建て小屋（見張り小屋 兼 男子生徒部屋）です。現在は改造して新しく生まれ変わり、物々交換センターとして使用しています。
木と竹でできた建物はエアコン・扇風機いらずで涼しいですよ。
